Your Tarot Aunty

As humans, we share thousands of days walking the same earth. We each live through our own understandings of life; which, in doing so, allows for two things:

To turn scorn, or to prevail. We either learn from experience and give ourselves grace, or, we sit and ruminate and tell the universe that we don’t care anymore. Either road you take, just know it’ll always be listening for your call.

Like many, I’ve often felt compelled to act with integrity, a.k.a., “do the right thing”. Whether for myself or for the greater good, we know what choices we make at the end of the day. As a kid, I would even analyze and merit the purpose of every hero, every sidekick, every character that played their part; paying low heed to the bullies, the nemeses, and the enemies attempting their ruin. In my mind, they were just speedbumps, or, mere distractions. Mentally, I’d be fast-forwarding to the good part where everyone finds their way. This inquisitive and solution-based nature is my childhood. I just happened to grow into wiser versions of that same child that is me.

For a while, I’ve hesitated to admit I still hold on to hope for positive outcomes, even through the stories I have both witnessed and lived. Describing my life to other people has always been difficult, and sometimes a little nerve-wracking. Little magical moments would happen all the time, and I never made comment of it because of my instilled fear of being perceived as crazy. Then, an entirely new language would come along and allow me to describe people’s lives for a living, including my own.

Thanks to the practice of tarot, my life has never felt so complete.

If we’re really being honest, I would not care to wish this life for anyone else. Not because of some savior complex that thinks I deserve the entitlement, rather, I just know that my life has been gifted to me as yours belongs to, well, you.

And anyway, we know I’ve never been great with telling my own stories. I have, however, found a knack for helping others discover theirs.

As the ‘Fool’ card continues to remind us, embrace the day as if it is your first day of living.
Smell the flowers; repeat the cliches. Really listen to the messages that are coming to you, and only you. Resist knowing everything and instead, fuel the kinder to your curiosity. Remain open. We’re all learning, here, after all.

“The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The work of life is to develop it.
The meaning of life is to give it away.”
